HH Bhakti Charu Swami Maharaja's Preaching in Bangladesh.

HH Bhakti Charu Swami Maharaja has arrived in Bangladesh on 31st of October for his maiden preaching trip to the south-western cities in the country. He was welcomed at the airport by senior devotees by big garlands. Exiting from the VVIP terminal, he was escorted to Uttara, a new suburb of Dhaka city, the capital of the country. Dhaka is a bustling city with huge population, comparable to that of Tokyo or Mumbai.
HH took breakfast prasadam there at HG Vasudeva Prabhu’s house and took a little rest. He took a tour around the house where a BACE or devotee students’ dormitory is also located. He addressed the devotees of the newly established ISKCON Preaching Centre and the local Bhakti Vriksa devotees. He emphasized on the importance of Hare Krishna Mahamantra and insignificance of material wealth. He encouraged the devotees to continue with their book distribution and preaching efforts.

He then made his way through the busy Dhaka traffic to HG Abhay Krsna Prabhu’s house. He took lunch prasadam and rested for a while. In the evening he went to the ISKCON Swamibag Asram, where he attended a pandal program. The pandal program was attended by the Minister of Sports in the Government of Bangladesh. HH discussed the significance of Srila Prabhupada in introducing Krsna Consciousness into our lives and emphasized ISKCON as a prime face for institutional and organized unity in the face of maya and kali’s affront. The minister and the political leaders were highly appreciative of HH’s insightful and far-sighted vision and explanation of the contribution of Srila Prabhupada’s mission. Thus HH laid the foundation for the seminar to be held on the next three days. He melodiously rendered the Damodarastakam prayer and offered ghee lamps to Lord Damodar.

On the next day, HH took early breakfast and gave darshan to some senior devotees. He then made his way to the ISKCON Swamibag Asram, where he started the seminar on “ISKCON – The Wonderful Family of Srila Prabhupada”. The seminar was attended by HG Atul Krsna Prabhu, Dean of Mayapur Institute, HG Saci Maharani Devi Dasi (Sydney, Australia) and HG Radha Vinodini Dasi (Sydney, Australia). A lot of critical and important questions were posed by the audience, to which HH obliged gladly with highly enlightening answers. The seminar continued each morning from 10-12am for three days in a row (1-3 November)

In the evening of 1st of November, HH went to Narayanganj, where he was given a grand welcome by the local devotees. He introduced HG Atul Krsna Prabhu, HG Saci Maharani and HG Radha Vinodini Matajis. Their Graces talked and expressed their feelings about being in Bangladesh and in ISKCON. HH explained the verses in Damodarastakam quite elaborately. Afterwards He sang the verses and offered Ghee lamps to Lord Jagannatha Baladeva and Subhadra Maharani. The devotees were tearful as HH left for Dhaka.

HH is in good spirits and health, is highly appreciative of Bangladesh’s preaching efforts.

HH Bhakti Charu Swami Maharaja's preaching tour in Bangladesh

On 1st of November, the morning Srimad Bhagavatam class was given by HG Ganganaryana Prabhu, where he discussed the pastimes of Lord Vamanadeva. Everyone was delighted at the very humorous class!

The second day of the seminar was started by Guru Maharaja by reminiscing about the times he spent with Srila Prabhupada. Guru Maharaja told the audience about how he came into ISKCON, how he came into the association of Srila Prabhupada, and how he started to serve Srila Prabhupada as his secretary for Indian Affairs and personal cook. Guru Maharaja’s eloquent speech was so vivid that the audience was spellbound! The question and answer session was a very interactive one, with many questions being asked and answered. The seminar was attended by 1500 devotees from around the country, including HG Atul Krsna Prabhu, HG Ganga Narayan Prabhu, HG Saci Maharani Mataji and HG Radha Vinodini Mataji. Guru Maharaja took lunch at the temple and then went to Kuthi, his birthplace in Brahmanbaria district. He was accompanied by HG Charu Chandra Prabhu, HG Ganganarayan Prabhu, HG Laxmi Narayan Prabhu, HG Radha Vinodini Mataji, HG Saci Maharani Mataji on the helicopter to the village. The journey was exciting and a huge crowd of devotees and local villagers welcomed Guru Maharaja and the other devotees. Guru Maharaja gave a discourse in the pandal program organized at the sports ground of the government high school. The day’s morning Srimad Bhagavatam was given by HG Atul Krsna Prabhu. Prabhu gave a very enlivening discourse on the importance of Varnasram, Grhastha and Bramhacharya in Krishna consciousness.

On 3rd of November, the third and last day of the seminar, Guru Maharaja continued sharing his experiences with Srila Prabhupada. He answered some more questions after which he sang the bhajan “Suddho Bhakata Carana Renu” a very popular song among the Bangladeshi devotees. The morning Srimad Bhagavatam class was given by HG Ganganarayan Prabhu. Guru Maharaja gave darshan to some awaiting devotees, and then left the temple for HG Abhaya Krsna Prabhu’s house. He took lunch prasadam and started preparing for the river cruise trip to Barisal. The river cruise trip was attended by 436 devotees. It was an overnight journey, and Guru Maharaja was already exhausted by this time. Even then by His causeless mercy, he took the interviews of 101 devotees for 1st (Harinam) initiation the next day.

Till now all of the program was held in Dhaka, among a general strike enforced by the opposition parties. But by the blessings of Krsna and Srila Prabhupada, there were no problems of any kind in Dhaka. But the strike could be worse in the south western districts, as such Guru maharaja after consultation with the organizers and the ISKCON National committee members, decided not to risk all the devotees’ lives and return back to Dhaka after the program in Barisal.
Guru maharaja had a slight cold, and the inadequacy of proper rest was taking a toll on him. But as usual Guru Maharaja was in high spirits and encouraged everyone with his warm smile.

More to follow…

Thank you for your causeless mercy.

HH Bhakti Charu Swami Maharaja live from ISKCON Ujjain, 11/10/2014

Today HH Bhakti Charu Swami Maharaja gave a wonderful Srimad Bhagvatam Class at ISKCON Ujjain, which was broadcasted live on Mayapur.tv.

Following are the notes from HH Bhakti Charu Swami Guru Maharaja's class on SB 4.25.56 given today(11/10/2014) , 11th October 2014, at ISKCON Ujjain.
Two types of souls:
1. Liberated soul
2. Conditioned soul
Criterion to become liberated is surrender to Krishna
Independent souls cannot stay in spiritual world. Therefore they are sent to the material nature so as to act independently but then material nature functions over these souls according to guna and karma.
In goddness – one enjoys
In passion – one suffers
In ignorance – one becomes unconscious – bewildered, being intoxicated. Ex. Animals
Conditioned soul is he who acts independently.
Being in mode of goodness (like being obeidient) is close to spiritual life.
More one tries to enjoy (in mode of passion), the more Maya punishes.
Spirtual awareness spread in the world as :
Jare dekho tare kaho Krishna upadesh
Ex. Srila Prabhupada preached and those who heard from him, they told others
Ex. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu preaching to everyone coming in his way during his south India tour.
Krishna Consciousness cures us from material disease. How you accept it, it doesn’t matter. It will cure your disease.
Ex. No matter how to take medicine, medicine works. Like mother gives medicine in sweet.
Material nature is making you think that you can get anything by money.
But you can’t get spiritual needs fulfilled by money. Spiritual need is love. This knowledge is given by a Vaishnava. Ex. American boys left their homes and became hippies – in the search of happiness.
Krishna Consciousness takes you HIGH and you never come down. Whereas drugs may take you high but you have to come down again.
So, devotees in initial days had a slogan – “STAY HIGH FOREVER”
Immediate result of following four regulative principles is that one becomes:
· Physically healthy
· Mentally agile
· Intellectually alert

Through your materialistic endeavor have you became really happy?
You can’t be happy.
Endeavour to become happy in material world is like looking for water in mirage. Can you quench your thirst in mirage?
In order to be happy, you have to change your course – from material life to spiritual life.
Ex. A wise man helps the man searching water in mirage. He advises to go to real water and not to mirage. Then he even give some water from his bottle so that the latter person trust on him.
Spiritual life will give you ocean of water, where you can drown in water of joy.
Krishna is the ultimate lover. He will give us all love of which we are looking for.
Chant Hare Krishna. Follow four regulative principles. And remain in the association of devotees in ISKCON. Then your life will become successful and you will drown in the ocean of ecstasy.
Spiritual life is the matter of surrender. You may surrender to one devotee then he introduces you to all other devotee and thus surrender increases more and more.
If you want to act according to your nature then you make sure that you offer all results to Krishna. That is karma yoga.
If you just surrender to authority and devotees and just do what is told to you without considering your own likings, nature, etc. then it is devotional service.
To avoid offenses to devotees try to see their good qualities and genuinely appreciate them.
